Betty Cody, Public Relations

Public Relations Director for Albert Matthews

Betty serves as the Public Relations Director for Albert Matthews, where she is known for her warm personality, creative vision, and genuine connection with people from all walks of life. Betty focuses the outreach of Albert Matthews to reach Southwest Florida and beyond.

Born and raised in Miami, Betty eventually relocated to Southwest Florida where she gained extensive experience as a Deputy Clerk of Court in Lee and Collier County. Specifically, Betty served as the designated Domestic Violence Clerk, having already gained hands-on experience in other areas of the Clerk of Court including traffic court, criminal court, civil court, foreclosures, and dependency matters. She later worked as a Judicial Assistant to the Honorable Elizabeth V. Krier and developed a strong understanding of courtroom operations; a broad perspective of the inner workings of the judiciary; a clear sense of professionalism; and law office operations.

One of the projects closest to Betty’s heart was creating a dedicated waiting room for children during court proceedings, giving them a safe environment in the courthouse during some of the most difficult and uncertain moments of their young lives. Here in Lee County, Betty was one of the creators and organizers behind local events Grinch Fest and Boo Bash for local families. Betty also works with charities such asOma’s Heart, which provides Christmas gifts for children in Fort Myers, and Pathways to Opportunity, whose mission is helping individuals with disabilities find acceptance, purpose, and connection.

Outside of the office, Betty’s greatest joy is her family. She is the proud mother of a handsome son, and lovingly cares for her parents, who remain full of energy well into their 80’s. Betty enjoys karaoke nights, spending time with friends and family, boating, relaxing at the beach, attending concerts, and mindful living.

When you meet Betty out in the community, be sure to say hello — she’ll likely already be smiling and ready to make your day a little brighter.
